Chief Secretary Shri Anand Bardhan has said that a well-structured and organized platform will be developed to ensure continuous dialogue, better coordination, and sustained cooperation for the maximum utilization of scientific institutions of national importance located in Uttarakhand for the benefit of the state.

Chief Secretary Shri Anand Bardhan expressed these views while releasing the poster and brochure of the upcoming 6th Dehradun International Science and Technology Festival proposed to be held from November 12 to 14 at Vigyan Dham, during a program organized at the auditorium of Doon Library and Research Centre. Extending his best wishes to the organizers for the proposed festival, the Chief Secretary said that with continuous advancements in the field of science and technology, rapid changes are taking place. Such events play a vital role in connecting society, especially the young generation, with science and technology and inspiring them to progress in this field.

The Chief Secretary said that it is essential to give special attention to promoting research and development in the field of fundamental science, which is the mother of technology. He stated that being a Himalayan state, science and technology are extremely important and essential for Uttarakhand. Several national-level scientific and educational institutions are located in Dehradun and Uttarakhand, which provide cooperation from time to time in various sectors for the benefit of the state. Special attention will be given to ensuring maximum cooperation and better coordination among all major institutions in the interest of Uttarakhand. The Chief Secretary also directed UCOST and the Department of Science and Technology to take effective initiatives in this direction.

On this occasion, Secretary, Government of Uttarakhand, Dr. R. Rajesh Kumar, Shri Chandresh Yadav, Shri Deependra Chaudhary, HESCO founder Padma Bhushan Shri Anil Joshi, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Petroleum and Energy Studies, Uttarakhand, Shri Ram Sharma, and Joint Director of UCOST Shri D.P. Uniyal shared their views. The program was conducted by Shri Kunwar Raj Asthana.
