Chief Minister Issues Strict Directives for Action in Nainital Incident, Emphasizes Zero Tolerance on Law and Order Violations

Dehradun: Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami held a high-level meeting at the Chief Minister’s residence on Friday and issued stern directives to officials for taking strict action against those violating law and order in the state. Expressing serious concern over the recent incident involving a minor girl in Nainital, the Chief Minister directed officials to take immediate and stringent action against the accused.

He instructed the Nainital district administration to ensure complete care and security for the victim and her family. “The government stands firmly with the victim and her family in this difficult time,” the Chief Minister said.

 

During the meeting, the Chief Minister also issued clear instructions to identify and take immediate legal action against individuals spreading misleading information and rumors through social media or other platforms. He reiterated that any attempt to tamper with the identity and integrity of Uttarakhand will not be tolerated. “Whoever tries to disrupt the unity of Devbhoomi—be it an individual or organization—will face the strictest legal consequences,” he asserted.

 

The Chief Minister also emphasized the need for utmost vigilance concerning the safety of pilgrims and tourists in the state. He stated that any negligence in security arrangements will not be acceptable under any circumstances.

 

Highlighting the importance of law enforcement at the grassroots level, the Chief Minister instructed district magistrates to submit detailed reports within three days regarding the actions taken on tenant verifications, street vendors, illegal land encroachments, and individuals possessing fraudulent documents.

 

The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary Shri Anand Bardhan, DGP Shri Deepam Seth, Principal Secretary Shri R.K. Sudhanshu, Shri R. Meenakshi Sundaram, Additional Director General of Police Shri V. Murugesan, Shri A.P. Anshuman, Additional Secretary (Home) Smt. Nivedita Kukreti. Through virtual participation, Kumaon Commissioner Shri Deepak Rawat, IG Kumaon Smt. Riddhim Aggarwal, District Magistrate Nainital Smt. Vandana, District Magistrate Udham Singh Nagar Shri Nitin Bhadauria, SSP Nainital Shri P.N. Meena, and SSP Udham Singh Nagar Shri Manikant Mishra also joined the meeting.
