Mayor Levels Serious Corruption Charges Against Development Authority; Mandi Parishad Chief Calls for Probe, Vows Strict Action
A video from Haldwani is currently going viral on social media, sparking intense discussion. The footage shows Haldwani Municipal Corporation Mayor Gajraj Bisht attending a meeting with Nainital-Udham Singh Nagar MP Ajay Bhatt and other prominent figures. What has truly drawn attention, however, is the Mayor’s bold and sharp statement during the meeting.
In the video, Mayor Gajraj Bisht openly accused officials and employees of the Haldwani Development Authority of corruption. He alleged that these officials harass the public and demand money illegally. His remarks have sent shockwaves through both the administrative machinery and political circles.
Reacting to the controversy, Anil Kapoor Dabbbu — Chairman of the Uttarakhand Mandi Parishad and considered close to Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami — stated that the CM’s government operates with a policy of zero tolerance towards corruption and any such allegations will be taken seriously. He added that many officials have already been sent to jail under this policy.
Dabbbu emphasized that if the Mayor possesses evidence of corruption within the Development Authority, a thorough investigation must be conducted, and those found guilty will not be spared. Following this statement, all eyes are now on the state government to see whether a fair investigation will indeed take place and whether action will be taken against those involved.
Meanwhile, the public is hopeful that the issues raised by their representative will be addressed with honesty and justice.
