As part of CPI (ML)’s statewide Resistance Day, a protest was held at the Lalkuan Tehsil against the increasing incidents of women harassment in Nainital and across Uttarakhand. The protestors demanded urgent action to stop such incidents, the formation of fast-track courts for swift justice to victims, and condemned the use of such events to fuel communal division and hatred.

They criticized the state government’s failure in curbing these crimes and accused Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami of being openly responsible for disrupting communal harmony, demanding his resignation. A memorandum outlining these concerns was sent to the Governor of Uttarakhand.
