Congress Questions Government Readiness Ahead of Char Dham Yatra Despite Administrative Preparations
As preparations are underway by the administration to ensure a smooth and successful Char Dham Yatra, the Congress has raised several questions regarding the arrangements.
Congress State Vice President (Organization and Administration), Suryakant Dhasmana, stated that last year’s Char Dham Yatra witnessed multiple instances of mismanagement. While the government is estimating that around 55 to 60 lakh pilgrims will visit the four shrines, Congress wishes for the number to reach one crore. However, Dhasmana emphasized that the government must ensure proper arrangements for the pilgrims, including food, accommodation, drinking water, toilets, and adequate facilities for darshan at the shrines. He added that if the government is capable of providing all these, the number of pilgrims can definitely cross several lakhs more.
