In accordance with the directives of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, strict action has been taken against officials found guilty in the case related to the purchase of land in Sarai by the Haridwar Municipal Corporation.
In this matter, four officials have been suspended. Disciplinary action has been directed against one employee, and a clarification has been sought from one officer.
Following the report submitted by the Municipal Commissioner of Haridwar Municipal Corporation, which indicated prima facie serious irregularities, Ranveer Singh Chauhan, Secretary, Sugarcane and Sugar, Government of Uttarakhand, has been appointed as the investigation officer for a detailed inquiry.
The investigation found that Ravindra Kumar Dayal, Executive Officer Grade-2 (In-charge Assistant Municipal Commissioner), Anand Singh Mishrawan, Assistant Engineer (In-charge Executive Engineer), Laxmikant Bhatt, Tax and Revenue Superintendent, and Dinesh Chandra Kandpal, Junior Engineer—all members of the land purchase committee of Haridwar Municipal Corporation—failed to perform their duties properly. As a result, all these officials have been suspended.
Retired Property Clerk Mr. Vedpal, who was serving on extension, was also found involved in the matter. His service extension has been terminated and disciplinary action has been ordered. Additionally, Ms. Nikita Bisht, Senior Finance Officer of Haridwar Municipal Corporation, has been asked to submit a clarification.
