Congress is preparing for a major protest over the delay in repairing the crumbling hillsides in the Kwarab region. On May 22, the party’s state leadership will gherao the District Magistrate’s office. Almora MLA Manoj Tiwari, in a press conference, said that this road is a lifeline for the hills, connecting three districts via a national highway. Despite seven months passing, the treatment work on the hillsides has not started, putting locals, tourists, and traders in serious trouble.

MLA Tiwari also targeted Union Minister of State for Road Transport and Highways, Ajay Tamta. He said that despite this being Tamta’s own parliamentary constituency, the situation remains unchanged. With the monsoon approaching, the government remains indifferent and inactive.
