Peshkar Caught Red-Handed Taking ₹10,000 Bribe in Roorkee

Dhami Government Strikes Hard Once Again on Corruption Under Zero Tolerance Policy

Fifth Major Action Against Corruption by Dhami Government in Just One Month

Complaint Was Made via Toll-Free Number 1064

In line with the Dhami government’s ongoing crackdown on corruption under its zero-tolerance policy, the Vigilance Department has achieved a major success by arresting a Peshkar posted at the Additional Tehsil Office in Roorkee, who was caught red-handed accepting a bribe of ₹10,000.

This action was taken based on a complaint received through the government’s toll-free anti-corruption helpline 1064. The complainant stated that a legal matter related to his sister’s agricultural land was pending in the Tehsildar’s court in Roorkee. On April 21, he submitted a restoration petition for rehearing, and in exchange for its resolution, the Peshkar, Rohit—resident of House No. 273, Village Kasba Roorkee, Haridwar—demanded a bribe. Acting swiftly, the vigilance team set up a trap and arrested the accused on the spot.

Under the leadership of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, the state government has taken a firm stand against corruption. In just the past month, more than five government employees have been caught red-handed accepting bribes. Over the past three years, more than 150 corrupt individuals have been sent behind bars.

CM Dhami’s strict stance clearly indicates that the state government is committed to its zero-tolerance policy and is launching a full-scale offensive against corruption. From investigation to arrest and suspension, every corrupt official is facing what can be called a “surgical strike.

The Question unanswered is Why Vigilance department is not able to catch Big officers and Politicians. Former Chief Minister and Present Haridwar MP shri Trivendra Singh Rawat raised questions on Rampant and illegal mining across the state a cocus of mining Mafias, politicians, senior Beurocrats and mining officers. He raised doubts on Government intention on Corruption.
Noticably Corruption on very big Quantum is visible in almost every department of Uttarakhand but Vigilance department is unable to see. Corruption has entangled Beurocrats and Politicians but for Vigilance department it is restricted to only Small Babus, Patwaris and sub inspectors.
