The Chakrata rape case, involving the rape of a Dalit girl by a government teacher and the victim’s attempted suicide, is gaining momentum with new revelations every day.

Now, the victim’s statement has surfaced, in which she narrated her ordeal. She said the villagers are supporting the accused and are pressuring her family to withdraw the case, due to which she and her family are under threat. The victim also made a new revelation, alleging that the accused had previously exploited another minor girl.

Meanwhile, SP Rural Renu Lohani, who reached Vikasnagar late at night, claimed that under the leadership of the CO Vikasnagar, a police team is stationed in the victim’s village. Several teams are working to arrest the accused, and he will soon be behind bars.

The shocking incident took place on April 13 in Chakrata, Dehradun. In this disturbing case, a Dalit girl accused a government teacher of forcibly establishing relations with her, threatening to kill her, and ultimately, the victim attempted suicide by consuming pesticide.

What’s even more concerning is that the case is not limited to the crime alone — the strong-arm tactics of the local panchayat have also come under scrutiny. This was revealed through a written complaint submitted to the police by the victim’s family.
