A controversy has emerged in Haridwar just before the start of the Char Dham Yatra, surrounding certain dhabas and hotels. Many establishments located on the Delhi-Haridwar National Highway display flags bearing images of Hindu deities. However, when customers make online payments, it is revealed that these places are operated by members of the Muslim community.
With millions of devotees participating in the Char Dham Yatra, the issue becomes serious if anyone is deliberately hiding their identity while using religious symbols to attract pilgrims. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has indicated that such cases will be thoroughly investigated, and mandatory police verification will be carried out.
He added, “We have issued clear instructions to officials that no activity spreading confusion or dissatisfaction in society will be tolerated.” Following the Chief Minister’s statement, pressure has mounted on the administration to act swiftly.
