Kainchi Dham in Nainital echoed with the chants of devotees. With the ongoing tourist season and the weekend rush, a massive crowd of visitors is flocking to the temple to seek blessings of Baba Neem Karoli Maharaj. Due to the heavy tourist influx, long traffic jams are being observed on the roads, causing significant inconvenience to local residents.
Considering the crowd at Kainchi Dham, the police have started stopping vehicles of tourists in **Bhowali** and are sending them to Kainchi Dham through shuttle services.
About 18 kilometers from Nainital, on the banks of the Shipra River, lies Kainchi village, where a small temple was once built. Over the years, due to strong faith and numerous miraculous stories, this temple has grown into a grand spiritual center. Located in the valley along National Highway 87E, which connects Delhi to Almora, the temple is considered a hub of spirituality.
Millions of devotees arrive here to receive Baba’s blessings and partake in the sacred offerings. Devotees believe Baba Neem Karoli Maharaj was an incarnation of Lord Hanuman. Kainchi Dham was established on **15 June 1964** by Neem Karoli Baba. He first visited the site in 1961, and with the help of his friend **Purnanand**, laid the foundation of the ashram. Since then, every year on **15 June**, the foundation day of Kainchi Dham is celebrated with great enthusiasm. Devotees from across the country and abroad come for the darshan of Baba Neem Karoli Maharaj, with lakhs of people visiting on this auspicious day alone.
