Decisions of the Dhami Government Set Benchmarks, Accelerating Development
Under the “Four Years, Exemplary Years” program of the Uttarakhand government, a grand public gathering was organized at MB Inter College in Haldwani, where Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh participated. On this occasion, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami welcomed him by presenting a replica of the Nanda Devi Temple along with a locally handcrafted shawl.

Addressing the gathering, the Defence Minister paid tribute to the martyrs of Uttarakhand and described the state as a sacred land of faith, spirituality, sages, and ascetics. He said the people of Uttarakhand are gentle, hardworking, and deeply patriotic. He emphasized that under the leadership of Chief Minister Dhami, the state is steadily progressing and establishing itself among the leading states of the country.

Praising the functioning of the Dhami government, he said it is working swiftly with a zero-tolerance policy. Appreciating the Chief Minister, he remarked that “Dhami is has now become a dhurandhar leader,” consistently taking effective decisions for the state’s development.

Rajnath Singh further noted that Uttarakhand has completed 25 years since its formation, marking a journey of sacrifice, struggle, and progress. He highlighted rapid advancements in road, rail, and air connectivity, expansion of power capacity, tourism, employment, and skill development.
He said that under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Uttarakhand is making significant contributions to national development. Despite being a small state, it has achieved remarkable progress in every sector. He pointed out substantial growth in the state’s GDP and per capita income as indicators of its development pace.

The Defence Minister described key decisions of the Dhami government—such as the Uniform Civil Code, anti-cheating law, anti-encroachment drives, and development of border villages—as milestones. He stated that Uttarakhand has become the first state in the country to implement the Uniform Civil Code, marking a historic step toward social justice.

On illegal infiltration and encroachment, he stressed the importance of preserving the sanctity and security of the state. He said thousands of encroachments have been removed and strict action is being taken against illegal activities. He added that both the central and state governments are working together on border area development, the Vibrant Village scheme, and efforts to curb migration.
He emphasized that the “youth and water of the hills” should be utilized for local development to generate employment and strengthen the local economy.
On the occasion, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami elaborated on the achievements of both the central and state governments. He said that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, the country is moving forward with the mantra of reform, perform, and transform, playing a strong role globally.
The Chief Minister highlighted significant progress in investment, tourism, infrastructure, industry, and employment over the past four years. Through the Global Investment Summit, major investment agreements have been signed, while startups and industries have grown rapidly. He noted that initiatives like women empowerment, youth employment, transparent recruitment systems, and strict action against corruption have brought positive changes in the state.

He added that the anti-cheating law has secured the future of youth, with thousands receiving government jobs. The implementation of the Uniform Civil Code has also strengthened social harmony.
He further stated that tourism is being boosted through the development of homestays, hotels, and religious sites. Development work in border areas has also encouraged reverse migration.

During the event, the Defence Minister also visited exhibitions set up by various departments, showcasing projects such as the Jamrani Dam, national highways, rural development, and wildlife conservation initiatives.
