Result of Nexus Between Politicians – Middlemen – Traffickers – Corrupt Cops
Strict Measures Needed Against Cow Slaughter and Smuggling Too
Dehradun: A delegation of Jan Sangharsh Morcha, led by Morcha President and former GMVN Vice-Chairman Raghunath Singh Negi, met with the Director General of Police (DGP), Uttarakhand, Mr. Deepam Seth, and submitted a memorandum demanding strict action to dismantle the drug trafficking nexus in the state, run a strong campaign against rash driving, and curb cow slaughter and smuggling. Mr. Seth assured the delegation of appropriate action.
Negi stated that drug smuggling and cow slaughter/smuggling often flourish due to the collusion of some leaders and corrupt police officers, who sell their conscience for a few bucks. This inhuman business thrives because such individuals leak vital information when senior police officials attempt to act against these networks, thereby sabotaging missions. The alliance between politicians, middlemen, and smugglers has deeply rooted this illegal business. Due to the rise in drug abuse, the youth are heading toward destruction, leaving parents distressed and helpless.
Negi further pointed out that the situation related to rash driving is equally alarming. Many drivers under the influence of alcohol or drugs have caused fatal accidents, resulting in untimely deaths and severe injuries. These intoxicated drivers have made walking on the roads unsafe. Heavy trucks loaded with minor minerals are being driven recklessly by 18–20-year-olds, posing a serious threat to public safety. There is an urgent need to check their driving licenses and impose strict control.
Negi emphasized that breaking the nexus of politicians, middlemen, traffickers, and corrupt police personnel is the only way to curb these inhumane practices effectively.
The delegation included: Morcha General Secretary Akash Panwar and Vijay Ram Sharma.
