In Haldwani’s Budh Park today, hundreds of villagers from Baghjala in Gaulapar staged a protest against being deprived of government schemes. The protesting villagers alleged that until recent years, their area received facilities like electricity, water, roads, and benefits from both central and state government schemes. However, suddenly the government discontinued all these services. Currently, they are not being provided electricity connections or water connections under the Jal Jeevan Mission. Moreover, they are not receiving any benefits from other welfare schemes of the central and state governments. As a result, they organized a warning rally and have announced that if the services are not resumed soon, they will launch a more intense agitation.
