Many initiatives being taken by the government under the ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’ campaign – Chief Minister

On Friday, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami distributed a total amount of ₹1,72,44,04,000 through DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer) to 40,504 beneficiaries under the Nanda Gaura Scheme for the financial year 2024–25, from the Chief Minister’s Camp Office.

Through this scheme, over the past five years, a total of ₹9,68,64,51,000 has been provided via DBT to 2,84,559 beneficiaries.

Under the Nanda Gaura Scheme in Uttarakhand, an amount of ₹11,000 is provided at the birth of a girl child, and ₹51,000 is given upon passing class 12. For the financial year 2024–25, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami transferred ₹9.81 crore to 8,616 girls upon birth and ₹162.62 crore to 31,888 girls who passed class 12, through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami stated that the state government is making various efforts under the ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’ campaign. A large number of girls from poor families in the state are benefiting from the Nanda Gaura Scheme. Important schemes like the Girl Child Education Incentive Scheme and the Mukhyamantri Mahalaxmi Kit Scheme are also being run in Uttarakhand.
