Senior Congress leader and former Kedarnath MLA Manoj Rawat has made serious allegations against the state government. He stated that an attempt is being made to forcibly construct a 220/33 kV substation on the grazing land (Gochar) in Rudrapur village of Rudraprayag district. He highlighted that over 200 families reside in the village, owning more than 500 livestock. This is the only grazing land available in the village, and if construction takes place, there will be no land left for grazing, which is why the villagers are opposing the project.
On the other hand, Kedarnath MLA Asha Nautiyal stated that the matter is currently in court. She mentioned that she has met with the villagers to understand their concerns and assured them that further action will be taken only after the court’s decision.
