**Vikasnagar:** Jan Sangharsh Morcha President and former GMVN Vice-Chairman, Raghunath Singh Negi, while addressing the media, stated that despite the Hon’ble High Court repeatedly reprimanding the government on the issue of illegal mining, revenue loss, and use of heavy machinery in rivers during broad daylight, the silence of the Raj Bhavan indicates its silent consent to the government’s black business.

Till now, the Raj Bhavan has not spoken a single word against the government in light of the court’s orders, nor has it issued any directions to the officers to implement the court’s directives. Far from taking any action, the government doesn’t even want to hear a word against these mafias.

It seems that the Raj Bhavan has become merely a place of luxury and has bowed completely before the government. Due to the Raj Bhavan’s silence, mafia rule has been established in the state, leading to annual revenue losses worth thousands of crores.

Today, the government talks of ₹1,025 crore in revenue, whereas it should actually aim for ₹8,000–10,000 crore annually.

Negi also said that even in response to the recent statement made by former CM and MP Trivendra Singh Rawat regarding illegal mining, the Raj Bhavan could have taken suo-moto cognizance—but instead, it has become a puppet of the government.

The situation is such that illegal mining operations run throughout the night across the state, with roads flooded by mineral-laden vehicles, depriving people of sleep.

The Morcha has been vocal about illegal mining for years, while the opposition is only playing an eco-friendly match on the issue.

Present at the press conference were Morcha General Secretary Akash Panwar and Dilbag Singh.
