Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami launched the second phase of the “Lab on Wheels – Mobile Science Lab” project, gifting nine mobile science labs to students of government schools in the state. The Chief Minister inspected the scientific models in the mobile labs at the camp office premises and flagged off all nine mobile science labs.

Last year, the Chief Minister had also flagged off mobile science labs for four districts: Champawat, Almora, Dehradun, and Pauri.

Prof. Durgesh Pant, Director General of UCOST, informed that the first phase of the project was successfully implemented in the four mentioned districts. In view of its remarkable results, the initiative has now been extended to the remaining districts of the state. He stated that the Uttarakhand State Council for Science and Technology (UCOST), through this ambitious project of the state government, is working to promote science and science communication in rural and remote areas.

Under this project, students from classes 6 to 10 will be given the opportunity to learn and understand subjects like Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics more effectively through mobile laboratories, hands-on demonstrations/models, and science activities.

Prof. Pant said that this marks the second phase of the project, now being launched in the remaining nine districts: Uttarkashi, Tehri, Chamoli, Rudraprayag, Haridwar, Udham Singh Nagar, Nainital, Bageshwar, and Pithoragarh.
