The world-famous Kedarnath Dham Yatra is set to begin on 2nd May , and ahead of this, the district administration, health department, and other concerned departments are actively working to ensure smooth arrangements before the temple doors open. Chief Development Officer (CDO) Dr. G.S. Khati stated that the district administration is working on war footing to repair road routes as well as pedestrian pathways leading to Kedarnath. Meanwhile, DDMA teams are continuously engaged in removing heavy snow from the trekking routes through strenuous efforts. Additionally, damaged paths due to last year’s disaster are being restored to ensure a smooth and grand yatra.
Chief Medical Office (CMO) Dr. Ram Prakash mentioned that a 17-bed hospital is being constructed in Kedarnath this year. As soon as the snow-clearing work on trekking routes is completed, health department teams will begin setting up essential medical facilities. He further stated that all MRP points along the Gaurikund-Kedarnath trekking route are also being repaired.
Moreover, a bone specialist doctor and an X-ray machine will be available at Fata, a key stop on the Kedarnath Yatra route. The state government has also been requested to deploy additional doctors and paramedical staff for the yatra.
