Tharali Landslide: Two Vehicles Trapped in Debris, No Casualties Reported

Due to heavy rainfall in Tharali, Chamoli district, a local stream overflowed, disrupting the Karnaprayag-Tharali and Tharali-Dewal roads. The routes have now been restored. Two vehicles were buried under the debris following the landslide, but no casualties have been reported.

District Magistrate Sandeep Tiwari stated that upon receiving information about the incident, teams from the administration and police were immediately dispatched to the site. The highway has since been cleared, and instructions have been given to remove the buried vehicles as per protocol. The DM also appealed to the residents to avoid traveling in vulnerable areas during heavy rainfall.
