The Tehsil administration team was left shocked upon discovering a massive stockpile of illegally mined stones in Singhniwala area of Vikasnagar Tehsil.
The team, which was initially there to carry out demolition of illegal constructions, stumbled upon the illegal stock spread across several bighas of land.
When officials questioned local villagers about the culprits behind this illegal mining storage, the villagers began arguing among themselves, blaming one another for the activity.
Under the direction of Tehsildar Vivek Rajori, the administrative team conducted on-the-spot measurements of the illegal stockpile. Action will soon be taken against those responsible for the illegal mining operation.
The massive illegal stockpile in the middle of the village left the officials stunned, especially since no villager had any clear explanation. Instead, infighting broke out among the locals.
Such illegal mining stockpiles are reportedly being operated at several locations in the Pachhwadun region. The open operation of such activities and the apparent negligence by the responsible departments raise serious questions about their oversight.
