In Uttarkashi today, the Gangotri priests announced the auspicious date for the opening of the Gangotri Dham gates during the holy festival of Navratri. The temple gates will be opened for devotees on April 30.
President of the Gangotri Temple Committee, Dharmanand Semwal, informed that the world-famous Gangotri Dham gates will be opened on the sacred occasion of Akshaya Tritiya at 10:30 AM during the Abhijeet Muhurat and Amrit Bela on April 30. On this occasion, the Ganga Sahasranam recitation will be performed. Secretary Suresh Semwal shared the details of the auspicious timing for the opening of the temple gates during a press conference.
The state government has also started preparations for the Char Dham Yatra. Like every year, all necessary facilities will be made available for the pilgrims undertaking the yatra.
