Uttarakhand Swabhiman Morcha President Bobby Panwar arrived in Lalkuan today as part of his tour of Kumaon.
While addressing a press conference, he said that it has been 25 years since the formation of Uttarakhand, but the dreams with which the state was created have still not been realized. Apart from issues related to water, forests, and land, unemployment remains a major problem in Uttarakhand. Those who fought for the creation of Uttarakhand never imagined that issues like land laws, unemployment, and corruption would reach such extreme levels. In light of this, a new political alternative has been formed in the state in the form of the *Uttarakhand Swabhiman Morcha*. As part of this initiative, discussion seminars are being organized at district headquarters across the state. Subsequently, such seminars will also be held at the block and village levels. The first phase of the program will conclude today in Dehradun.
The President of the Uttarakhand Swabhiman Morcha targeted the BJP government, saying that the state government has turned Uttarakhand into a laboratory. He stated that although the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) has been implemented, the concept of live-in relationships will greatly harm Uttarakhand’s culture, traditions, and customs, and its negative consequences will soon be visible. He emphasized that it should be withdrawn. Additionally, he criticized Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami for putting up large hoardings claiming “Three Remarkable Years,” alleging that crores of rupees of public money have been wasted on this campaign.
