The Char Dham Yatra is set to begin in Uttarakhand on April 30, and the government is actively preparing to ensure it is safe and well-organized.

Cabinet Minister and Rudraprayag District In-Charge, Saurabh Bahuguna, stated that the Char Dham Yatra is Uttarakhand’s most significant pilgrimage, deeply connected to the pride and identity of the state. He emphasized that the government is seriously concerned about the arrangements and is working on the ground level.

He added that a meeting was recently held by the Chief Minister in Dehradun regarding the Char Dham Yatra. Additionally, Bahuguna himself chaired a meeting focused on the Kedarnath Yatra, which included stakeholders such as palanquin bearers, taxi associations, mule operators, and local traders. Discussions were held and suggestions were received to improve the pilgrimage experience.

He stressed that the government is committed to ensuring a smooth and safe journey for devotees, especially in terms of safety, as several areas along the route are disaster-prone. He mentioned that even during last year’s yatra, natural disasters occurred, but a large number of people were safely evacuated. Hence, steps are being taken to make this year’s yatra more secure.
