After the implementation of new laws in Uttarakhand, the first live-in relationship registration has taken place in the rural area of Haldwani. As per the new legal provisions, registering live-in relationships has now been made mandatory, along with marriage registrations.

Consequently, the first case of live-in relationship registration from a rural region has been officially recorded, with the registration conducted by the Sub-Divisional Magistrate. SDM Paritosh Verma stated that this is the first live-in relationship registration case in the rural area that has been duly registered.
