A major negligence by the Forest Department has come to light in Uttarkashi. Green trees have been used by the Energy and Forest Departments to install electric lights, posing a serious safety threat. These LED lights, fixed directly onto live trees in densely populated areas, are a clear danger. Even more alarming are the exposed live wires hanging near these lights, increasing the risk of a major accident.
The incident occurred near the Uttarkashi Forest Office, in Ward No. 1. Shockingly, the department has no information about who installed these electrical connections. Due to the lack of electric poles in some areas, electric meters are being installed directly onto trees. As visible in the images, LED lights along with exposed wires are dangerously attached to green trees.
It is particularly concerning that people pass through the area around these trees regularly, making the potential for a serious accident even greater. While the Forest Department claims to be actively protecting the forests, right near its own office, green trees are being used recklessly for electric installations, increasing the risk of short circuits and disasters.
