“Safe Medicine, Safe Life” – And then, a surprise inspection of medical stores created a stir among medical shop operators.
Under the directives of the Uttarakhand State Legal Services Authority, the “Safe Medicine, Safe Life” campaign is currently being conducted across all districts of Uttarakhand. As part of this initiative, teams from the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), the Drug and Food Department, and Vigilance carried out surprise inspections of medical stores, causing panic among many store operators.
The team closely examined how medicines were being stored and checked whether any expired medicines were being sold. A thorough inspection was conducted. The team first visited the Central Medicine Depot, where all government-supplied medicines are stored, to inspect how they were being maintained and provided necessary guidelines.
Moreover, the team also inspected the freezers in the medical stores to ensure they were functioning correctly and that medicines were being kept at the appropriate temperature. The medical store licenses were also checked.
Overall, the surprise inspection led to a state of chaos and anxiety among many medical store owners.
