Temple of Maa Rajrajeshwari in Ranihat Chauras Awaits Renovation, Devotees Flock for Navratri Darshan
The temple of Maa Rajrajeshwari, the family deity of the Tehri royals located at Ranihat Chauras, is currently in dire need of renovation. On the auspicious occasion of Navratri, people from Tehri Garhwal and Pauri Garhwal come here to offer prayers and seek blessings from the goddess.
It is believed that the King of Tehri established this temple, and the queen used to visit it through a secret path. However, today the temple of Maa Rajrajeshwari is longing for restoration. Although the state government is running various schemes to promote the beautification of temples and religious tourism, this temple has remained untouched by these initiatives. On the occasion of Navratri, locals are now demanding that the temple be beautified and made grand.
Former village head and local resident Manoj Kumar Joshi stated that just like the temple of Mata in Diwalgarh is being linked to religious tourism, similarly, the temple of Maa Rajrajeshwari should also be connected to religious tourism. This would attract more devotees and also ensure the development of the region.
