Uttarakhand Mahila Congress marched to the Chief Minister’s residence over rising women-related crimes, law and order issues, unemployment, and inflation.
The Uttarakhand Mahila Congress staged a protest march to the Chief Minister’s residence today under the leadership of State President Jyoti Rautela. Around 400 women participated in the protest. The Mahila Congress alleged that due to the government’s failure, incidents of rape, atrocities against women, unemployment, inflation, and sexual violence are on the rise in the state. Women are also being given inadequate horizontal reservation. Criminals have no fear of the police, and women across the state no longer feel safe. Cases of harassment and violence against women continue to increase, yet the government has taken no concrete steps to curb these incidents.
